Welcome to Hourglass Historicals, a site that features historical fiction. The aim is to have history come alive, let you walk on the brick streets of a small Indiana town in 1915 or the cobblestone streets of Paris before America entered World War I.
There are two books to start with, but more will be coming later. Regardless of how many books will be listed on this site, every one will carry you back through the sands of time to a spot on the continuum of history.
In the mid-1950's, Walter Cronkite hosted a CBS program entitled, You Are There. It put the listener in the midst of history while it was being made. Mr. Cronkite always ended the program with the following statement: "What sort of day was it? A day like all days, filled with those events that alter and illuminate our times...and you were there." That is the attempt of this site, to place you in the scene while history unfolds.
By clicking on the books to your left, you will be able to read the back cover and a review or two, plus you can download the first chapter for free.
Hope you enjoy your time here. I would love to hear any comments you have. Just click the "Host" tab. My contact information is listed at the bottom of the page. |
